Articles about literature

iterature represents a language or a people: culture and tradition. But, literature is more important than just a historical or cultural artifact. Literature introduces us to new worlds of experience. We learn about books and literature; we enjoy the comedies and the tragedies of poems, stories, and plays; and we may even grow and evolve through our literary journey with books.

Ultimately, we may discover meaning in literature by looking at what the author says and how he/she says it. We may interpret the author's message. In academic circles, this decoding of the text is often carried out through the use of literary theory, using a mythological, sociological, psychological, historical, or other approach.

Whatever critical paradigm we use to discuss and alyalyze literature, there is still an artistic quality to the works. Literature is important to us because it speaks to us, it is universal, and it affects us. Even when it is ugly, literature is beautiful.

The History of Paper

hamlet's 'to be or not to be' speach
One of those seminal moments happened to me today, and I was fortunate enough to recognize it, and not dead enough to realize that I can infact record it. So here it is. About 6 o' clock in the evening today, when the office had gotten comparatively sparse (it is a brilliant role reversal here. The junior most peons are always gone exactly by 5:15 pm, while the bosses sit in late), this advertising agency came in to give a presentation pitch to this other department. They went in to the common conference room. After a while, a loud and very obvious copy of Summer of '69 started blaring into the rest of the office. The agency had apparently adapted some sales force inspirational media video on the song. A colleague of mine, who I think would be one of the youngest and freshest looking in office (actually my age, but he looks the part more. Crisp alive coloured shirts, the jumpy and active demeanor, picture perfect script for someone 27-28 in an office in the set of a recent hardworking director's movie),seated next to me was talking to two others, giggling about the song, and then he looks at me, smiles quite indulgently, and says, "They've copied quite a famous song. Have you heard it? Summer of '69, it is called." The two others in their middle age looked at me and smiled just as indulgently, as if they had just let me into the knowledge sharing session of a lifetime.
